Viet Nam was recently voted one of the safest destinations in the world. Women and independent travelers have found it relatively hassle-free. However, incidents of petty theft and bag snatching are more widespread in Ho Chi Minh City, and to a lesser extent Ha Noi. There are some international clinics and hospitals open to foreign tourists for medical consultations and treatments in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city.
